I want to share my writing assignment last semester to you, hopefully useful for you guys.

I have studied about expanded paragraph to essay with introductory paragraph and conclusion paragraph. In essay  introductory paragraph is the first paragraph. It  make paragraph more organized and guided in essay  . 

The purpose of the introductory paragraph is twofold : first, To get the readers’ attention. Second, To introduce the subject of the essay to them-in that order.

There are several guidelines for writing a good introductory paragraph :

•  It must be relevant to the topic 
•  It should not introduce material not convered in the essay.
•  It should not preview the points that will form the body of the essay.
•  There should be at least two sentences before the thesis statement. 
• The thesis statement should come at the end of the introductory paragraph.

        

      Indeed ,many ways  for a writer to get the reader’s  attention in an introductory paragraph. Four          of the most common ways are discussed is Anecdote ,  Interesting facts or Statistics, Historical           Introduction,and General to Specific. 

• An anecdote is a brief story that illustrates the topic. We can either base this anecdote on our own experience or invent  a story about someone else.                        

•  Interesting Facts or Statistics is another way to introduce our essay. We  need to be aware of  commonly known information. We can expand our knowledge of facts and statistics by carefully  reading newspapers and journals.

•  In Historical Introduction it simply provides general historical background. 

• And in General to Specific it begins with a general statement of the larger topic, and       then each sentence narrows it down until you get to the specific  thesis statement.

      Talk about thesis statement, the thesis statement is the most important sentence in a essay. The             obvious thesis statement rewarding for a good essay.  In a thesis statement has two main parts :           the topic and the controlling idea. 

• The topic is the subject of the essay ,what the essay is about. 

• The controlling idea  is what you are going to say about the topic. In addition, some thesis statements may also have a third component       called a predictor. 

      The predictor of a thesis statement tells the reader how many body paragraphs there will be in           the essay and what their content will be. We call this third part of the thesis statement the                     predictor because it predicts the number and content of the essay                                                           paragraphs.                                                                                                                                                      

      On the other hand  concluding paragraph is the last paragraph of our essay.this paragraph has           Important function in essay, also to make the readers understand of what the point of our essay is. 

      There are several ways to end our essay : a concluding paragraph consists of a summary Of the         points made in the body paragraph , a restatement of the thesis statement, or a final                     comment on the topic. Summary  is One way to end our essay  to summarize the main points in       it, and  make sure that we include all the topics in the body paragraphs. Restatement is an                   alternative to a summary of the idea of our thesis statement. Final Comment  a concluding                 paragraph is most effective when we add a final comment to a summary or a restatement or both.        We can choose one of them  to end our essay. Remember  a concluding paragraph should never           introduce new information about the topic of the essay. But new information should go in another       body paragraph.
