Writing a Body Paragraph

last week I have learned about the body paragraph. which In writing, the body paragraph is the main part of our essay or paper. Each body paragraph contains a topic sentence that tells  readers what the paragraph is going to be about, supporting sentences that discuss the idea or ideas in the topic sentence using examples and/or evidence to support that discussion and a concluding sentence that emphasizes the importance of the supporting examples or evaluates the connections between them. Each main idea that we  wrote down in your diagram or outline will become one of the body paragraphs. If we had three or four main ideas, we will have three or four body paragraphs.

Descriptive

Writers use the descriptive essay to create a vivid picture of a person, place, or thing. Which reveals meaning through a personal story, the purpose of a descriptive essay is to reveal the meaning of a subject through detailed, sensory observation. With descriptive essay, reader will feeling that they have really met a person, gone to a particular place, or held a certain object, the writer has done a good job. If readers also feel an emotional connection and deep appreciation for the subject’s significance, the writer has done a great job.

Professional writers know one thing: Writing takes work. Understanding and following the proven steps of the writing process helps all writers, including students. Here are descriptive essay writing tips for each phase of the writing process:

1. Pre writing for the Descriptive Essay
In the pre writing phase of descriptive essay writing, students should take time to think about who or what they want to describe and why.

2. Drafting a Descriptive Essay
When creating the initial draft of a descriptive essay, follow the outline, but remember, the goal is to give the reader a rich experience of the subject. Keep in mind, the most important watchword of writing a descriptive essay is show, don’t tell. One of the best ways to show is to involve all of the senses—not just sight, but also hearing, touch, smell, and taste.

3. Revising a Descriptive Essay
In the revision phase, students review, modify, and reorganize their work with the goal of making it the best it can be.

4. Editing a Descriptive Essay
At this point in the writing process, writers proofread and correct errors in grammar and mechanics. It’s also the time to improve style and clarity. Having a friend read the essay helps writers see trouble spots and edit with a fresh perspective.

5. Publishing a Descriptive Essay
Sharing a descriptive essay with the rest of the class can be both exciting and a bit scary. Remember, there isn’t a writer on earth who isn’t sensitive about his or her own work. The important thing is to learn from the experience and take whatever feedback is given to make the next essay even better.

Narrative

Narrative is synonymous with story.  A narrative is the story (fiction or non-fiction) told and the order in which it is told. Narrative writing is very important in our day-to-day life.  For the rest of our life,we will write texts, e-mails, cover letters, blogs, etc. about  our beliefs,  our ambitions, information we know, and feelings we have.   Effective narrative essays allow  readers to visualize everything  that's happening, in their minds.  One way to make sure that this occurs is to use concrete, rather than abstract, details.

Concrete Language…
1. makes the story or image seem clearer and more real to us.
2. gives us information that we can easily grasp and perhaps empathize with.

Abstract Language…
1. makes the story or image difficult to visualize.
2. leaves your reader feeling empty, disconnected, and possibly confused.

To summarize, the narrative essay

is told from a particular point of view
makes and supports a point
is filled with precise detail
uses vivid verbs and modifiers
uses conflict and sequence as does any story
may use dialogue

Conventions of Narrative Essays

In writing our narrative essay, keep the following conventions in mind.

Narratives are generally written in the first person, that is, using I. However, third person             (he,she, or it) can also be used.

Narratives rely on concrete, sensory details to convey their point. These details should                 create a unified, forceful effect, a dominant impression. More information on the use of                 specific details is available on another page.

Narratives, as stories, should include these story conventions: a plot, including setting and             characters; a climax; and an ending.
